At A Partner Left Behind - GFIDF, we believe in the power of a nurturing, supportive community born of shared experience. To this end, GFIDF organizes unique empowerment and experiential gatherings for bereaved partners, designed to strengthen them personally, socially, and emotionally.
These gatherings bring together a variety of activities that offer partners moments of joy and respite from daily challenges, while also creating opportunities to meet others who share a similar journey and to form lasting bonds of support. Through these events, we seek to reinforce a sense of security and resilience, provide meaningful experiences, and remind bereaved partners that even in difficult times, there is still room for smiles, growth, and renewal.
Every year, on the Friday before Memorial Day, GFIDF holds a special memorial ceremony for bereaved partners. This gathering allows members to be together during the emotionally heavy days surrounding Memorial Day and creates a space that honors their unique place in the national circle of loss.
Our partners’ gatherings strengthen the deep sense of community fostered by GFIDF and ensure that every bereaved partner of a fallen IDF soldier knows there is always a supportive, embracing place that walks alongside them throughout life, whenever they need. This sense of belonging directly addresses the loneliness that so often accompanies the grief of partners.
